The Guardian™

All chain operated shades use a metal bead stop attached to the chain that is too large to pass though the clutch wheel, thus stopping the shade from raising or lowering beyond a certain point. Many times when untrained operators attempt to open or close the shade, this bead stop hits the clutch with too much force causing a break to either the lifting chain or the clutch itself.

The Guardian prevents damage from excess force by buffering the stopping action with a spring assisted stopping channel placed between the bead stop and the clutch.

Users will feel the compression of the spring, warning them to either slow down the operation, or move the chain in the opposite direction to achieve the desired movement of the shade.
